After loosing these 2 matches against Serbia at home and Austria in an away game, Romanias chances to qualify for the South African World Cup from next year are now close to zero.
Victor Piturca
It seems like the head Coach, Victor Piturca is not willing to leave the bench after another 2 humiliating results because he would have to pay the Federation 300.000 Euro, also if he is sacked he should receive 600.000 Euro compensation. I guess the people that offered this contract to him had a lot of confidence in his ability.
As a side note, in this group Romania has conceded 10 goals in the first 5 fixtures. That’s double as much as Faroe conceded so far.
